the charlatans 1967 and 1991, dan hicks 1987, and the flamin' groovies live in 1980: relax! (don't do it!)

coumtree and westcoats hippopies, vrrry charmaning snouts from the passed: the charlatans live in 1967 and 1991, dan hicks in the studio in 1987, and the flamin' groovies live in berlin 1980, all at a rather distinctive sound quality.
there is no proven evidence for the line-up of the charlatans 1967 recordings, but you will find a rather good guess in the linernotes. the re-united charlatans in 1991 were mike wilhelm and dan hicks on guitars and vocals, richard olsen on clarinet and bass, and george hunter on vocals; the second bass player and even the drummer unfortunately remain unnamed.
the 1987 dan hicks demo is a nice little tune at least, and the flamin' groovies are here with two tracks from a berlin concert in 1980; and while everybody knows the second track, "tell the truth" is a song originally written and performed by derek and the dominos that the groovies never recorded in the studio and only played live two or three times in the early eighties.
as this record changes hands for some 80 euro i thought you might want to listen to it before you buy or die:

berlin 1984: the soundtrack for the film "der biß" featuring music provided by marianne rosenberg, david peel, die gesunden, unlimited systems, tecnoville and gerd pasemann

in 1984 punk was leaving for good and trash took over the town. in this state of uncertainty marianne enzensberger of the nowavegroup unlimited systems produced her amorph and shambolic vampyre-movie "der biß" featuring improper and improvised actions by the likes of rosa von praunheim, marianne rosenberg, max goldt and many other inmates of the isolated island of berlin in the mid-eighties.
and nobody really cared. in 1985 the berlin inndeependend label schnick-schnack released an album of eight songs that were featured in this film, and nobody cared furthermore or furtheron, and the record vanished in the dustbins of woolworth and kaufhalle for 99 cent, and still noboredy cared, and now the record changes hands for some thirty euro and more. i bought my copy waybackthen, of course, and i thought you might like to hear some of these sounds of the berlin state-off-the-art from 1984 before you better decide to buy the album at a horrendous price, as you will.
so listen:

01 - unlimited systems - farewell stranger
02 - marianne rosenberg - nägel aus eis
03 - die gesunden - kalte liebe
04 - david peel - up against the wall (listen directly in your browser)

05 - marianne rosenberg - rhapsodie in blut (listen directly in your browser)
06 - tecnoville - small piece of silicon
07 - gerd pasemann - sermon im bunker
08 - unlimited systems - ich beiss mich selbst

so get lost.

the ptolemaic terrascope was a british magazine that started in 1989 to explore the obscure psychedelic sounds that influenced the wonderful bevis frond whilst turning into the most comprehensive source for information about mind expanding music throughout the centuries. editor phil mcmullen completed the long strange trip in 2004 with the release of PT#35. issues #1 up to #24 each included a vinyl-ep featuring unreleased tracks by the likes of nurse with wound, twink, high tide, spirit, cliff richard, man, vietnam veterans (to name but a few), issues #25 up to #35 each included a full length cd album with more rare and unreleased gems. all editions of the magazine are completely sold out.
to give you a short insight into what you might have missed we decided to share at least the supplements of PT#29 and PT#26 in this here blog; and now here is a little bit more. with the edition of terrascope #21 in september 1996 every subscriber received the wonderful cd "audible rumbles vol.1" for free, and this little gem has become rather rare throughout these years. right here and now you can listen to some exclusive music phil had given to the world back then, to decide if you really want to spend some 25 dollars on an original copy; and yes, i am totalitarily recommanding that you do.

tom newman: the fine old faerie symphony from 1977 featuring mike oldfield and neil innes, plus some bonus tracks for your pleasure

yes, tom newman. i bought his first solo album fine old tom way back in 1975 just because i knew that fred frith was featured on some of its tracks; and it took some time for me to realize that i could like mister newman's playful music just for its own playfulness. and it took even more time to realize the odd mike-oldfield-connection and more important than that his rhizomaticly rooted connections into the canterbury scene.
and eversince i started exploirating his mutual connexions to and or for within a lot of music that i liked i had to admit that i loved his nonavantgardexperimental approach quite a lot. the hermetic weirdness of his music is easily accessible for everyone.
tom newman released his third solo album faerie symphony on decca in 1977 as a collaboration with the likes of mike oldfield, neil innes, geoff westley and many others. in 1999 the german tempus fugit label rereleased the album including some bonus tracks from some of his other albums and some demo tracks. this version of the faerie symphony is what i am sharing with you right now.

nixon denies watergate and the energy crisis in 1974, the katmandu groove sherpas are waiting for the last hero in 1987, and the hook 'n' pull gang poures it all down yer throat: three seven-inchers found in my collection for your pleasure

three seven-inch-vinyl-singles i found in the deep black holes of my record collection that have got nothing in common except for the fact that i unearthed them in the deep black holes of my record collection; blabla. blurt if you mind you donned ingore-ants, me friedsome ghouregoo mucks. you can listen to all of these tracks directlay in your browser by clickingg withe a mouseleftclick; but if for annie rearson on erath you want to save the picturesk as well you will have to save them with with a rightmouseclick chewsing "save as"; it's sympol. just try.

--------------------------------------------
so let us start with richard nixon and what he had to say about the energy crisis in 1974 and the watergate incident and about robert or walter trump, do'ald you. these recordings were recordered by the post-noveltery exprut dickie goodman in 1974, and they are soundick ass fresh ass you caint gosh oh my fnording gosh like all=avery presidump the usoffa hated ever hat.

------------------------------------------
four the secount of all we got the coumpletedlay unknown geörmän krautautoffit the katmandu groove sherpas, who recorded and released their only 7inch in 1987, though they sound as if they got lost somewhere in 1974 and crawled out of the darknett without any foggy notion about what had has or have been happening in the meanbetweentime. the only evidence that they really existed is a mention of a concert they executed in a borstal youth center in immenstadt of all places on the 31st of october 1986. unfourtunatedly my copy of their only record is rather worn, so both tracks i'm sharing with you are starting off rather wobbly; burt you will like them annieweigh.

-------------------------------------------------
and the thirdiest of all these three singles i found in my collection is the only 7inch the hook 'n' pull gang from edinburgh ever released in 1987; and though it is not all too rare, it is here because i love it. listen, learn, and singalong to the missing link between realpunk and postrealitypunk, and tearjerking the both of them all are two, watzemetter!

the stuttgart postfluxus artist albrecht/d. live in kirchheim unter teck on the 19th of july 1981 with the debut performance of his composition "von a - atem anarchia bis z - zen"

and here is an other tape we found in the inheritance of the stuttgart postfluxus artist albrecht/d. who has passed away rather untimely in 2013. it is the debut performance of his composition "von a - atem anarchia bis z - zen" that took place on sunday the 19th of july 1981 at the opening vernissage for his exhibition "collagen an der grenze zum environment / fast 15 000 kilometer dazwischen" at the art gallery kröger in kirchheim unter teck in southwestgermany.
the first 15 minutes of what you are about to be listening to are the recording of the aforementioned performance, followed by some common noise and chatter you would expect visiting a vernissage, interrupted by some harsh noise that albrecht/d. produced with a record player and some other devices, ending in a power cut caused by the end of the tape. additionally you will get a rehearsal room recording of the composition that took place in stuttgart on the 18th of july 1981.
though there is no written evidence about any other musician involved in this performance it is most likely that steffen bremer was there on woodwinds and assorted devices, and probably franz dreyer on bambusflute and shakuhachi. and while listening very closely you might recognize some memberettes of the stuttgart all-girl-group frauenklinik, as well as GAW, der mußikant, my younger brother, and my beautiful self as being part of the audience.

three 7-inch-vinyl-singles for your listening pleasure, featuring franks' (sic!) country playboys, the black vial, the circus of doom (i.e. JG of the 39 clocks), and the snifters from amsterdam

aint-here we go: you'll get not ten, not seven, not even five, but three seven-inch-vinyl-singles that i found deep down in the black holes of my record collection, and i don't kehr too much if you like them or not, because you will get them annieweigh and ernieway and innovay i chose; chonk?

and auntiewhere you will find some rare items by franks' (sic!) country playboys, the black vial, the circus of doom, and the wonderbratfuelly underimperated snifters from amsterdamned. all songs can be listened to directly in your browser, there is no .zip- or .rar-file you are forced to download before listening to the music; but if you want to save the music to your hardveryhard-drive, please do not forget to save the pictures as well.hell. so here we go-go:

the snifters (from amsterdam)
two songs; one about a boy who likes boys, and one about a baby-child that likes punk. both songs were recorded and released in 1978; both songs are absoulutelay relevatourarey, loud and mindope-ning in most cases. if you don't change your life immediatelie-instantleigh the mourment that you hear these songs: you are dead.

the swamproom recordings 1990
this seven-inch-record was released in 1990 in a limited edition of 199 copies on the hannover swamp room records label. it featured very raw and undemployed demo-recordings by the circus of doom, witchwhat of course was jürgen gleue JG39 aka negrüj luege (sic!) all-allone at home demorecording fore noboredaddy butt me, cheaplay dissguised as the circus of doom, and on the other sight of this life whichis the same it featured the undernarratered liebfried loch aka the black vial withom-evenmore baldleyrecourded underlistenaybollowfi noise that you will love to hate.

franks' (sic!) country playboys
in this case, the internet and the world wide web and the dark net and the deep net are coumpleatelay clue- and helpless: nothing is known about this band; and nothing really means nothing. nothing. whow, but antiweight you can rearsom deaducktively at least some and the following thinks: first of all the first of all song "love" is a shmochshmaltzshnulze, too shmochshmaltzshnulzig to mention; the beside (though its the a-side oarrr the b-sight) called "fresno" is a reallynice countryrocking song. but nobody knows if it really happened. blabla, i woeren't bore you with annymoure guesses-about who frank thompson mighty-bee; you justgett anynfourmation that i have, and you'll fucking get out-there and fucking-o-research for your fnording selves ass all the facts there are are there in the scans and in the music:

and that's it for now, four know and fur ever!
